Explanation
A stagnation point is an arbitrary point on a surface of an object like an airfoil that is completely immersed in a fluid flow. At this point, the velocity of the fluid particles reaches zero due to the obstruction of the object. As per Bernoulli's principle, the fluid would then have a maximum static pressure and zero local velocity at the stagnation point. The total pressure at this point is also called as a stagnation pressure.
