The solar system is the terminology for the planetary system in which we live. The system consists of the central star - the Sun, around which the eight planets and their moons orbits around. Other astronomical objects that orbit the Sun are asteroids, comets, dwarf planets, and other small solar system bodies.

How did the solar system form?edit
The solar system is believed to be formed when a nebula collapsed on its own gravity 4.5 billion years ago. When the solar nebula collapsed, the conservation of angular momentum led to the denser cloud of gas at the centre to spin faster. The temperature at the centre increased as the spin grew faster, turning the dense cloud into the protostar. This also resulted in the formation of an accretion disc of other left out particles around it. And over time, they gradually stuck to one another and formed the asteroids, comets, planets and their moons.
