: Coanda effect is not the reason why the air gets turned downwards. It's another misconception that prevails and I should have addressed that in the article. However, there is a very negligible amount of Coanda effect in play too. I will address this soon. :) I am currently rewriting the lift part and the associated explanations to reflect this good. - Coanda effect is not the reason why the air gets turned downwards. It's another misconception that prevails and I should have addressed that in the article. However, there is a very negligible amount of Coanda effect in play too. I will address this soon. :) I am currently rewriting the lift part and the associated explanations to reflect this good.
