: Coanda effect is not the reason why the air gets turned downwards. It's another misconception that prevails and I should have addressed that in the article. However, there is a very negligible amount of Coanda effect in play too. I will address this soon. :) I am currently rewriting the lift part and the associated explanations to reflect this good. :: Oops! I should have described it better. What you are referring to is the misunderstood explanation of streamlines following the airfoil curvature. Just saw the edit summary! I think we also need to list all the semantics used to explain lift and clarify each.
