== Explanation ==
A stagnation point is an arbitrary point on a surface of an object like an [[airfoil]] that is completely immersed in a fluid flow. At this point, the velocity of the fluid particles reaches zero due to the obstruction of the object. As per [[Bernoulli's principle]], the fluid would then have a maximum static pressure and zero local velocity at the stagnation point. The total pressure at this point is also called as a [[stagnation pressure]].
